We bought the jewellery shop when I was very young because my dad (Ken) loved gemstones. Throughout the decades he has been able to use the connections he made in the gem fields as a young man and the lapidaries and gem cutters he met along the way to source some truly amazing gemstones for us from not only Australia but all over the world. This ring is such a beautiful example of that deep understanding of gemstones that only comes from a lifelong passion. The pear-shaped teal sapphire, mined right here in Australia and completely untreated, is the deepest ocean of colours that are impossible to capture in a photo. It has enough beauty as a stand-alone piece, but together with this rare Burmese spinel, formally known as a balas ruby by the royalty who prized them, and an ethically sourced diamond, they create a cocktail ring that is as unique as it is beautiful, and who's story is of the joy that comes from following the passions and loves we have in our lives.
